The book was quite a read for me. It started off a little slow and you have to wait until about a quarter of the way in the book to actually get to Cleopatra. It was very nice to get a glimpse into the lives of the people around her (even though this is just a novel). Her lover Mark Antony is not really brought up much until the end. Anything about Cleopatra holds my attention and this book was no different.
